When Lalita DSilva started working for Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan soon after they welcomed Taimur Ali Khan, hers was the “most discussed salary” on the internet. “It was even compared to the Prime Minister’s salary during Taimur’s time. I said I wish I get that,” she shared with a laugh. Lalita worked as a paediatric nurse for Taimur and Jeh for eight years and has worked with many celebrity kids in the past.
Talking about her salary to India Today, Lalita said that she often works round the clock as a nurse and added that she has the “right to take that much money.” “My question was that I am working 24×7, no holidays, I am on duty round the clock. Any corporate person works 9-5 at an executive level, they get weekends, family vacations, Diwali, Christmas everything,” she said and added, “What am I getting? If there is Diwali, Christmas, summer vacations, I am out of the country. So I have the right to take that much money.”
Lalita said that earlier, even her relatives would compare her salary to the PM’s and said, “My relatives would say ‘Lalita, you are paid more than the PM. I said I wish.” She insisted that even executives working at senior level have a schedule as opposed to her job where she has to be on her toes all the time.

“CEO and all… they have a schedule but we are working round the clock. We only get a break like for 1 or 2 hours so it is right for us to earn that much money. Our job is not easy. Being with a high profile family, we have to supervise every second with the child. I don’t know about others but I am very alert. At night, I wake up at least 4-5 times a day and I don’t even sleep that much. I only sleep when I know that the child is with the mother otherwise I am fully alert,” she said.
Lalita has previously worked with Mukesh Ambani’s family and was the nurse for Anant Ambani. She is presently working with Ram Charan and Upasana and helping them with their daughter Klin Kaara.
