The usually reticent and soft-spoken Yuvan Shankar Raja exudes upbeat vibes when he is on stage, or around friends. The composer is currently working on Venkat Prabhu’s Greatest of All Time (GOAT), headlined by Vijay, and has been in the eye of scrutiny over the responses to the songs from the film. Sections of netizens have expressed their displeasure with the latest song, Spark, which is sung by Yuvan and Vrusha Bala. In what seems like a statement of owning the composition and celebrating it, Yuvan has shared a video of him grooving to the number, and even imitating Vijay’s trademark steps.

Yuvan captioned the video shared on his Insta account, “Take OK, Lets Post,” and shared that it was with the approval of his cousin and long-time collaborator Venkat Prabhu. The comments section was filled with positive responses to this not-often explored side of Yuvan, but negative responses to the song found its way to this video too. Spark was the third single to be released from GOAT after Whistle Podu and Chinna Chinna Kangal. While both the songs were sung by Vijay, the latter had an AI version of Yuvan’s late sister and National Award-winner Bhavatharini’s voice along with the star.

GOAT, which marks Vijay’s penultimate film before he quits acting to concentrate on his political career, has huge expectations riding on it. The first collaboration between Vijay and Venkat Prabhu features a galaxy of stars, including Prashanth, Mohan, Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Laila, Jayaram, Ajmal, and Meenakshi Chaudhary. With cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni and editing by Venkat Rajen, GOAT is backed by AGS Entertainment, and is set to hit the screens on September 5.
