Actor Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan recently got married to Nupur Shikhare. After completing the legal formalities at a recent bash in Mumbai, the couple will host a more traditional ceremony in Udaipur. Aamir, with his son Azad, arrived in the city on Friday. Nupur and Ira have also reached the venue, and the couple will have a traditional Maharashtrian wedding ceremony on January 8, with festivities taking place across three days. The couple began their pre-wedding festivities with a Haldi ceremony on Tuesday. They registered their marriage on January 3, surrounded by friends and family.
Aamir is making sure all the pre-wedding traditions are celebrated the way the groom’s family wants. Aamir personally oversaw the details of Maharashtrian pre-wedding customs, combining the shagun ki mehendi and Haldi ceremonies. Aamir ensured that the women in his family wore Nauvari sarees, following the Shikhare family’s traditions.
In an unseen picture, Aamir was seen posing with Nisha, Gauri, Reena Dutta, Nikhat (sister), Laxmi, Leena and Farhat (sister). Kiran Rao also attended the pre-wedding festivities in Mumbai and was seen donning a traditional Maharashtrian outfit.

Actor and Ira’s cousin Zayn Marie gave a glimpse of the beautiful ceremony on January 3rd. Actor Imran Khan was also spotted in the pictures. She wrote, “SOB – as in Sister of the Bride and ‘I’m going to sob about this for the next ten days’ @khan.ira I still can’t believe it only yesterday you were so small, and now you’ve married one of my most favourite people on this planet. Aaahhh I’m going to cry just typing this. I love you both so much @nupur_popeye blessings.”

Aamir was previously married to Kiran Rao for 15 years; they announced their divorce in July 2021. They continue to co-parent their son Azad. Ira is Aamir’s younger daughter from his first marriage to Reena Dutta.
