Shah Rukh Khan has been a superstar for since the early 1990s and his charisma has been enamouring his fans since his early days in the movies. In a recent interview, actor Gajraj Rao recalled an incident where a big crowd of people started chasing Shah Rukh Khan on Delhi roads during the shoot of Dil Se and SRK had to ultimately calm them down and his presence in that crowd worked like magic. Calling him a “miraculous” personality, Gajraj shared an anecdote from the shoot of the 1999 film and said that SRK was almost like the Pied Piper in that moment.

He shared with Bollywood Bubble, “We were once shooting an ambulance scene where we are taking his character somewhere in the ambulance and we were on the roads of Delhi. And it just so happened, that because we were shooting and there were a few cars around, people got to know that Shah Rukh is inside the ambulance and before we knew it, a lot of people started following the ambulance. It actually got very scary.”

Gajraj said that Shah Rukh asked the ambulance driver to stop on the side of the road and got out of the vehicle to speak to people. “He then spoke to the people who were following us and he requested them by saying ‘we are doing a very important scene here. God forbid if something bad were to happen here, then it will be our loss, your loss, the shoot will stop. Do you want this to happen?’ You know how there is a Pied Piper, a magician… People were immediately like ‘nahi ji, bilkul nahi, aap karo.’ There were about 50-100 cars and bikes there and everyone just vanished,” he said. Gajraj said that he was “just amazed” by Shah Rukh’s personality here and still remembers this incident clearly.

In the same chat, Gajraj also opened up about another incident where during the rehearsal of another scene, he was supposed to push SRK against the wall. When he pushed the actor a little too hard, director Mani Ratnam was concerned and asked him to do it slowly but as soon as the director left, Shah Rukh asked Gajraj to do it just as he did it in the rehearsal.
