Director Milan Luthria, who has collaborated with Ajay Devgn on films such as Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Chori Chori and Kachche Dhaage, among others, has opened up about the time when he was ‘very angry’ with the actor for being kept waiting. In an interview, Milan said that Ajay had promised to do his first film, but wasn’t committing to a date. Eventually, the director couldn’t wait any longer and confronted Ajay on the sets of the film that he was working on, and gave him an ultimatum.

In an interview with Showsha, Milan said, “I remember one day when Ajay said to me, ‘I will do your film.’ At that time, he was very busy, so I kept waiting for my date to come. One day, I got very angry, so I went to his set, where he was shooting a different film. I said, ‘You’ve been saying for six months that my film will start. Will you start shooting my film or not? Tell me clearly.’”

Milan said that Ajay countered him with a question. The filmmaker continued, “He (Ajay) said, ‘You’ve asked one question; I’ll ask one question. Do you consider me a friend or not?’ I said, ‘Yes, I consider you a friend.’ Then he said, ‘Then sit in your car and go home. Your film will start in two months.’ We started from there, and our friendship has become very deep.”

Previously, in an interview, Ajay had revealed how he fought with Milan over the climax of their film Baadshaho. While promoting Golmaal Again, Ajay had opened up about the box office performance of Baadshaho. He said, “After the first trailer, even the multiplex audience wanted to watch it. Then came the first song, again everyone liked it. We went wrong with the material that came out after that as that is not something the multiplex audience wants to watch. I fought with the director as well, we had shot for something else but I don’t know why he didn’t include that in the end.”
