The much-anticipated trailer of The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, starring Henry Cavill in the lead role, has been unveiled. Based on real events from World War 2, the film centres around a group of people embarking on the ‘first special forces mission in history’ to combat the Nazis and safeguard England from falling under Hitler’s rule.

The trailer opens with Gus March Philips, portrayed by Cavill, receiving the instruction to lead a mission to neutralise German boats in the North Atlantic. Winston Churchill’s voice echoes the gravity of England’s wartime situation, asserting that unconventional methods are essential as Hitler ‘isn’t playing by the rules’. Philips assembles a team of unconventional and somewhat ‘mad’ individuals. As they go on an ‘unsanctioned, unauthorised’ mission, adventure follows.

The official synopsis of the film reads, “The top-secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of rogues and mavericks, goes on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly ‘ungentlemanly’ fighting techniques. Ultimately their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British SAS and modern Black Ops warfare.”

Joining Henry Cavill in the cast are Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Alex Pettyfer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Babs Olusanmokun, Henrique Zaga, Til Schweiger, along with Henry Golding and Cary Elwes. The screenplay is penned by Paul Tamasy, Eric Johnson, Arash Amel, and Guy Ritchie, who is also the director of the film. Guy has previously collaborated with Henry in 2015’s The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
