Actors Vidya Balan and Priyamani have never appeared in any films together, and their fans have rarely heard them speak about each other, but did you know that they are actually related? Priyamani recently revealed that she and Vidya are second cousins, but haven’t interacted much with each other. In a recent interview, Priyamani said that they have met only twice in their life. Both actors come from non-film families.

In a chat with Filmfare, when Priyamani was asked about Vidya, she shared, “We are second cousins on my father’s side. So, my grandfather and her grandfather are brothers. Her grandfather was the older brother.” She then added, “Till date, I have met her twice.” Priyamani then recalled the two instances, and said that the first time they met was at an award function where the organisers had arranged the function in such a way that Vidya gave the award to Priyamani.

“One was at at an award event in… I think it was in Vizag, where she had come with… I think she had done a Telugu film based on NTR sir’s life. So she had come… I think she must be getting an award or something so she came. They made sure that I was also there at that time so she gave me the award for some film of mine which I don’t even remember. The first time, I actually saw her on stage. She is very sweet, very warm. She said ‘Priya, how are you?’ I said ‘I am good. How are you?’ So that’s when we hugged and everything,” she recalled.

Priyamani also recalled their second meeting, which was at a party thrown by Shah Rukh Khan. “I think the second time we saw each other was at Shah Rukh’s birthday party. She’s very sweet, very, very warm,” she shared. Priyamani and Shah Rukh Khan have worked together in films like Jawan and Chennai Express.
