Halsey channeled Elizabeth Hurley — literally — at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards.

The singer-songwriter, 29, showed up to the VMAs Wednesday night at UBS Arena in Elmont, NY, sporting a red leopard-print vintage Versace dress that the “Royals” actress, 59, donned back in 1996.

When red carpet correspondent Nessa asked Halsey — who uses she/they pronouns — about “the inspiration” behind their figure-hugging outfit, they explained, “This dress was literally a miracle to find.”

The musician, who was born in 1994, continued, “This dress was designed by Gianni Versace for Elizabeth Hurley in 1996, and it hasn’t been worn since, so from 1996 to me right now — I’m just living it up. I’m loving it!”

Versace was murdered the following year outside his Miami Beach mansion by serial killer Andrew Cunanan. The Italian designer was 50.

His sister Donatella Versace went on to inherit a portion of the Versace brand and become its creative director. She currently serves as chief creative officer.

Halsey completed their vintage look with bright red hair they wore down and straight, a matching lip, defined cheeks and minimal eye makeup.

Hurley, for her part, rocked the garment in question to the grand opening of the Versace Boutique in New York City in October 1996.

The “Austin Powers” star held a small clutch for the occasion and styled her brown shoulder-length locks down and straight as a side-swept bang framed her face.

Halsey — who recently revealed they’d been diagnosed in 2022 with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder — told Nessa they were “excited” about taking the VMA stage later in the evening for the first time since 2016.

“It’s so crazy! It’s been a really long time. Also, it feels more chaotic than ever,” the “Without Me” hitmaker said as they looked around the packed venue.

“I’m performing a new song off of my upcoming album, [‘The Great Impersonator’]. The song’s called ‘Ego,’ and I’m really excited. It’s the live debut of the record, so I can’t wait.”

Asked what the track means to them, the “Closer” chart-topper shared that the “style” and “genre” of it are “indicative” of their “most authentic self as an artist.”
