The Creative Arts Emmys, the award ceremony that honours the best in artistic and technical categories in American primetime television, happened this past weekend. The big winner of the two-day event was FX’s Shogun, which took home a total of 14 awards, including wins for Best Guest Actor, Best Makeup, Best Hairstyling, Best Production Design, and Best Visual Effects. Shogun surpassed the record of most wins held by the 2008 series, John Adams.

It was an event of massive success for FX as the comedy series, The Bear, won seven awards in the comedy categories. It brought the maiden award for actor Jamie Lee Curtis, who received it for the Best Guest Star. The series also won awards for casting, editing, and sound mixing. With 27 wins across multiple categories, FX won the distributors race by a considerable margin with Netflix and Apple TV+ winning 18 and 15, respectively. Interestingly, Shogun and The Bear received maximum nominations in the Emmys with 25 and 23, respectively.
