During the conversation, when Eva was asked about how she went through a bad marriage, the actress recalled the tough times and shared, “I had all the happiness in the world, I was doing very well. But that was not just what I wanted, I wanted a home, a loving husband, and loving kids. I wanted to be a homemaker. But instead of achieving this dream of mine, I got everything else. I had a love marriage, we eloped and got married in 18 days. My mother didn’t want me to marry him since it was an inter-faith relationship, so we ran away from home. But by the fourth day, I realized that if this is what marriage is, why does the institute even exist?”

She told the podcast Coffee Unfiltered, “That marriage lasted for about five years and there were only problems. I tried my best that my home didn’t break, I had a child so that my marriage could get saved. But nothing happened. I guess he wasn’t mature enough to take that kind of responsibility. He was Aamir Khan’s stepbrother, he was a very different person from who I had dated. It was one of the most abusive marriages.”

Eva also spoke about her daughter Nishtha Khan and shared how she was taken away from the actress when she was three years old. “The divorce thankfully happened, my daughter lived with me till she was 3 years old. One day I came back from shoot and asked my mother where my daughter was and she said she gave her to her father. I lost my daughter and didn’t get to see her for 10 years. She now lives with her aunt. I meet her occasionally and have stayed with her. I tried to financially support my in-laws also. But at that time, I was going through depression, with too much anger and questions in my head. I had no one to talk to.”

Eva has also worked in Salman Khan starrer Ready and has been a part of other shows like Karishma Ka Karishma, Kora Kagaz, Bidaai, etc.
