In contrast to the usual celebrity tradition of hosting grand parties with friends and colleagues for their birthdays, actor-producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas chose to celebrate her 42nd one on Thursday by doing what she loves most — working, filming and being on a film set. Though this isn’t the first time the global star has spent her birthday this way, this year was especially memorable thanks to the extra efforts of her loved ones.
Now, Priyanka has shared pictures and videos from her eventful day, along with a heartfelt note thanking everyone who made her day special, especially her husband singer-songwriter Nick Jonas who, despite not being there physically, made sure his presence was felt in adorable ways.
Taking to Instagram on Friday, Priyanka wrote, “It was a working birthday this year. I’ve had so many of those over the years and have realised it’s one of my favourite ways to celebrate my birthday. To be doing what I love, on a film set.”
However, it wasn’t just a typical workday for Priyanka as many people sent gifts to the set of the American swashbuckler drama The Bluff, where she is currently working. The first picture in her Instagram post shows Priyanka Chopra in her vanity van surrounded by presents and decorations, including balloons and flower bouquets. In the background, a huge balloon banner with her initials “PCJ” can be seen. A video in the post shows her walking towards the set as the cast and crew sing “Happy Birthday” to her with a cake in the middle. Another photo shows her in costume and makeup for the film, with blood and bruises on her face.

She also shared photos of the gifts from her family, including a framed picture of her, Nick and their daughter Malti Marie, and an adorable drawing from her two-year-old child.
Even though he couldn’t be there in person, Nick made sure Priyanka had a great time by setting up a dosa truck on the film set, offering plain, masala, Mysore masala, onion and cheese dosas. “Thank you to my incredible husband who made his presence felt in such special ways, even though he was not here @nickjonas. The Dosa truck for the crew tho 😭!!! 😍,” she further wrote, adding, “My mom who made me. Happy birthing day mama, you became a mama for the first time today too @drmadhuakhourichopra. I love you. My little Angel @maltimarie for making life worth it.”

“Everyone who made the effort and found the address to my production office here in Australia and sent me tokens, I appreciate you so much. My cast, crew and producers of The Bluff, thank you all for the laughter, they joy, the beautifully decorated trailers, bringing in all the flowers every few minutes (sorry ADs) the waffle truck, the hugs, the cards, the cakes, you all are the best and I would not want yesterday to be any other way,” she noted.
She concluded the post by mentioning, “Thank you to everyone from around the world that texted, called and messaged. Thank you for thinking of me. I slept like a baby after that loong day. Best birthday gift.”
Meanwhile, her cousin, actor Parineeti Chopra, also wished Priyanka a happy birthday by sharing an old picture of the two of them. “Happiest bday mimi didi! Wishing you the best always and always!,” she wrote. Reposting it to her Instagram stories, Priyanka replied, “Woah throwback! Thank you Tisha.” Parineeti’s husband, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, also wished Priyanka by sharing a photo of all of them on Instagram. “Happy Birthday, @priyankachopra! Wishing you a fabulous year sprinkled with stardust, love and happiness 🤗,” he wrote.
