Swara Bhasker isn’t afraid to speak her mind so when a food blogger recently commented on her body in a Twitter post, Swara didn’t hold back while replying. The food blogger shared two photos of Swara, one from a few years ago and another picture which was fairly recent, and wrote in the caption, “What did she eat?” Swara was quick to respond to her tweet and wrote, “She had a baby. And do better, Nalini.”

Fans of the actor got together in her support and called out the blogger for body shaming the actor. They criticised her in the comments section as a user wrote, “Bodyshaming IS NOT COOL. Removing you from my followers list and blocking you.” Another user wrote, “Shame on you. Unfollowed you.” “She’s a mother now, so yeah she did put some weight. Grow up @NalinisKitchen and stop body shaming!”, wrote another user.

The food blogger, Nalini, then shared that all of this started when the actor dismissed her vegetarian lifestyle in a tweet. She wrote, “I was doing well, but you got in my way by spreading hatred on my vegetarian post. I regularly promote vegetarianism, and that post was just part of it. Your response turned it into a communal issue, which is why I didn’t respond that day.”

“Your food choices are your own, and I have no issue with that. However, I am free to express and promote vegetarianism. Yes, I am vegetarian and understand that dairy can be cruel in some way. I will be more proud when I become vegan”, she added. She further said, “You turned my post into a communal issue. You have a huge fan base, so please think twice before making such comments. Your words can impact society and cause significant trouble for people like me.” “I accept my mistake by posting your photos and will delete them soon. DARO MAT accept your mistakes and delete hate against me”, concluded Nalini.

This again grabbed Swara Bhasker’s attention who replied, “Let’s get into this! U got upset that I called out your veg-supremacy post- clearly intended to target Muslims on Bakr-Eid. Ok. But instead of engaging with me on vegetarianism you chose to shame a breast-feeding mother of an infant for putting on weight?? You are a nutritionist?”

Swara and the food blogger have previously been in a war of words when Swara criticised her “proud to be a vegetarain” post on X. In the post in question, Nalini shared a picture of her meal which consisted of fried rice and paneer dish. Sharing the photo, Nalini wrote, “I’m proud to be a vegetarian. My plate is free from tears, curelty and guilt.”

Responding to the post, Swara wrote, “Honestly… I don’t understand this smug self-righteousness of vegetarians. Your entire diet is made up of denying the calf its mother’s milk… forcibly impregnating cows, then separating them from their babies & stealing their milk.” She added, “You eat root vegetables? That kills the whole plant! Please relax with the virtue signalling just because it’s Bakr Eid! (Folded hands emojis).”

Swara Bhasker, who was last seen in the 2022 film Jahaan Chaar Yaar, is married to Samajwadi Party’s Fahad Ahmad in February 2023. In September, the couple welcomed their first child on September 23 last year.
