Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt and director Vasan Bala’s much awaited film Jigra has been postponed. Alia took to Instagram to share a new poster of the film and announce its new release date. Jigra will now hit theatres on October 11, 2024. It was earlier scheduled to release on September 27, 2024.
Sharing the new release date, Alia wrote, “11.10.2024 | JIGRA | See you at the movies ♥️☀.” Jigra, co-produced by Alia and Karan Johar, also stars Vedang Raina in a pivotal role.

The announcement of Jigra’s new release date came minutes after the makers of Jr NTR’s Devara Part 1 announced their film’s new release date. Devara is now scheduled to release on September 27, 2024, and would have clashed with Jigra in theatres. However, shortly after the Devara announcement, the Jigra team announced their new release date, possibly to avoid the clash.
The makers of Devara shared the release date with a statement, “Sending a Warning Notice to all coasts about his early arrival ⚠️⚠️ Man of Masses @Tarak9999 ‘s #Devara in cinemas from 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟕𝐭𝐡! 🔥🔥 #DevaraOnSep27th 🌊.”

In April, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions announced their collaboration with makers of Jr NTR’s Devara Part 1 to distribute the film in the North. “Brace yourself for a mass hurricane! We are proud to announce our partnership for the north theatrical distribution rights for the next big cinematic experience in Indian cinema! Man of Masses Jr NTR’s #Devara – in cinemas 10th October 2024,” read the statement.
Devara also marks Janhvi Kapoor’s Telugu debut. On the other hand, Jigra marks Alia Bhatt’s first Hindi actioner. She was seen doing action in her Hollywood debut Heart of Stone, in which she played a negative role and co-starred with Gal Gadot.
