Nikitin Dheer, known for his negative roles in films like Chennai Express and Dabangg 2, recently opened up about his experience working with two superstars of the Hindi film industry – Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. During the interaction, Nikitin recalled the time during the Dabangg 2 shoot when even 50 bodyguards weren’t enough to protect Salman as villagers crowded around to get a glimpse of the actor.
Speaking to Siddharth Kannan, Nikitin said, “When we were shooting for Dabangg. It was a Sunday and we were shooting the climax scene. Around 50 bodyguards came with Salman Khan and the villagers got to know that Salman Khan has come. Would you believe that even those 50 bodyguards weren’t sufficient to manage the crowd and surround Salman? We actors also joined them in protecting him. Next day they had to double the cars for him. That is star power. Him just asking people to give him a way and them doing so is love. No money can buy that.”
Despite enjoying a massive fan following, Nikitin says that Salman is very self-aware and understands that fame is a double-edged sword. Nikitin explained that when he asked Salman how he feels about having the star power and recognition that he does, Salman’s poignant response left him speechless. “I asked him, ‘How do you feel knowing that even a person living under a rock knows you?’ He said, ‘It’s fine. When my time is bad, these are the same people who will abuse me. So, you have to know who you are,'” he recalled.
Nikitin was was last seen in Ranveer Singh-starrer Cirkus. He has Kannada film Martin in the pipeline. Directed by AP Arjun, it stars Dhruva Sarja in lead role.
