For a long time now, it was rumoured that Sathyaraj and Rajinikanth had a fallout during the 90s and stopped working together after their blockbuster film Mr. Bharath. Sathyaraj’s fiery speech during the protest against the Karnataka government was considered to be a dig at Rajinikanth. However, Sathyaraj has come forward to claim that there is no such issue between him and Rajinikanth.

Speaking to Indiaglitz, Sathyaraj revealed that he was supposed to act with Rajinikanth in Sivaji and Enthiran but he turned down the offer as he felt there wasn’t any substantial scope in them. He said, “After I turned a hero (he started his career doing villain roles), I was approached for two Rajinikanth films. The first one was Sivaji and the other was Enthiran. I was approached to play the role of Danny Denzongpa (the evil scientist who ends up corrupting Chitti Robo). I wasn’t satisfied with both roles. Otherwise, what problems do we have?”

Sathyaraj and Rajinikanth are now teaming up for the film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Though the makers are yet to officially confirm Sathya raj’s presence in the film, the actor revealed it in the promotion of a film called Malai Pidikatha Manithan. When asked about the role, Sathyaraj said he can’t reveal anything about it.

The film marks the 171th film of Rajinikanth. The teaser of the film revealed that the film has a lot to do with smuggling. However, the story and other details of the film are still under wraps. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for the film, which is directed by Sun Pictures. The film will go on floors once Rajinikanth is back from his ongoing spiritual trip to Himalayas.

Other than Coolie, it is rumoured that Sathyaraj is part of Salman Khan’s Sikander, which is directed by AR Murugadoss.
