Vishnu Manchu also revealed that the teaser of Kannappa will soon be released online. The actor further wrote on X, “For our audience in India, the teaser will be released worldwide on 13th June. On 30th May, I will be showcasing the Telugu version of the teaser in Hyderabad at a popular theatre. This special screening is for a select audience who have been encouraging Kannappa throughout my journey and have been sending constant messages of support on Instagram and Twitter. My team will be reaching out to these special invitees. I can’t wait to share the world of Kannappa with you all!”

This screening underscores the growing influence of Indian cinema at international film festivals. Since Baahubali’s success, the reach of Telugu cinema has transcended boundaries, and the makers of Kannappa are trying to capitalize on it.

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa stars some of the heavyweights of Indian cinema including Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, and Mohanlal. Stephen Devassy and Mani Sharma are composing the songs for the film.

Kannappa is the story of an ardent devotee of Shiva, who sacrificed one of his eyes for the deity and when he was about to give up his second eye, the deity appeared before him to bless him. The Tamil folklore is prevalent across South India. It would be interesting to see what the makers are up to with the age-old story.
