Bollywood  star Ranveer Singh may be known for his high-energy performances and infectious charisma or his out-of-the-box sartorial choices, but it’s his 93-year-old nana (grandfather) who recently captured the hearts of fans and stole the spotlight. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Ranveer shared how his grandfather braved the scorching Mumbai heat to cast his vote in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

Dressed in a dapper shirt and trousers, and sporting a pair of sunglasses, Ranveer’s nana was the epitome of cool as he left the polling booth, with a policeman by his side to assist him.

Ranveer called his grandfather a ‘rockstar’ and emphasised the importance of voting by using the hashtag #EveryVoteCounts. “93 yrs old. 93°F outside. But he voted. He’s a voter! My Rockstar Nana #EveryVoteCounts,” he captioned the photo.

The post quickly went viral, with fans and fellow celebrities flooding the comments section with praise for the nonagenarian’s commitment to civic duty. Actor Gulshan Deviah jokingly wrote, “I thought it’s you in makeup,” while others noted the striking resemblance between Ranveer and his grandfather. Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar and actor Dia Mirza expressed their admiration with heart emojis.

On Monday, Ranveer and his wife, actor Deepika Padukone, were also spotted arriving at the polling booth to cast their votes. The couple was the picture of solidarity, twinning in white shirts and denims, and wearing matching dark sunglasses. Deepika, who is expecting the couple’s first child, held Ranveer’s hand as they made their way through the crowd, with Ranveer acting as a protective husband, shielding her from the crowd.

With his grandfather setting an inspiring example of the importance of voting, it’s clear that the passion for making a difference and a style statement run strong in Ranveer’s family.
