Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 is off to a choppy start at the box office. LSD 2, starring Tusshar Kapoor, Swastika Mukherjee, Mouni Roy, Anu Malik, Urfi Javed, Paritosh Tiwari, Bonita Rajpurohit, Abhinav Singh, Swaroopa Ghosh and Nimrit Ahluwalia, was able to collect Rs 15 lakh on the first day. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, LSD 2 managed to mint Rs 12 lakh on the second day. The movie had an overall 5.56 per cent Hindi occupancy on Saturday.
Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 clashed with Vidya Balan-Pratik Gandhi starrer Do Aur Do Pyaar at the box-office. The rom-com has performed slightly better than LSD 2, minting Rs 1.40 crore in the first two days. The movie is also facing competition from big-budget films like Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan. Even with the cinema lover’s day offer on April 19, LSD 2 could not take off at the box office.
LSD 2 is the sequel of the 2010 film LSD. LSD also had a slow start at the box office, minting Rs 1.10 crore. However, the film gained momentum and it minted Rs 9.74 crore by the end of it’s theatrical run, according to Sacnilk.

Dibakar Banerjee has opened up about his film not performing well at the box office. In an interview with The Indian Express, he said, “LSD 2 has released today, there is another film that has released today, and the ground reality is that about two weeks ago another huge film released, that unfortunately didn’t do well for itself.”

He continued, “But it had booked many cinema theatres in advance. Those screens are booked, so there are only that many screens left for LSD and other films to come and find the best screens. So, it is also about power. Who is more powerful?”
