Holi parties organised by Amitabh Bachchan were counted among the grandest bashes in Bollywood with some of the biggest names from the film industry in attendance. While the celebrations, over the years, have become a lot more intimate, the family ensures they soak in the festive spirit.

On Sunday, the Bachchan family marked Holika Dahan at their Mumbai residence. Abhishek Bachchan and Navya Naveli Nanda took to Instagram to share glimpses of the joyful festivities. Meanwhile, Amitabh reminisced about past Holi celebrations on his blog, where he posted old photos with his family and memorable moments from film sets.

Amitabh Bachchan posted old pictures of his family members reveling in the vibrant Holi celebrations of yore. He also posted a photo of Abhishek Bachchan dressed in a white kurta pyjama and beige Nehru jacket, celebrating Holika Dahan on Sunday night. Alongside these images, he shared several photos of himself with fans during Sunday darshan. Dressed in a pink and white kurta pyjama set, the megastar can be seen waving at fans and signing autographs and posters.

In the blog post, Amitabh compared the Holi celebrations in his youth to the present times, writing, “Then .. and now. Greetings and wishes for Holi .. the happiness and the joy of everlasting colours of fulfilment and gaiety and merriment ..have lost count of the number of Holi celebrations at Prateeksha ..God has been kind … and the kindness of the Ef and the well-wishers, galore ..My gratitude to all the Ef at the GOJ for their wishes and their colours and their cards and letters .. and most importantly their love .. may each coloured celebration be eternal in your lives and filled with happiness and just .. happiness.”

The actor also shared a photograph of himself from the iconic song “Rang Barse” on X (formerly Twitter) and captioned it using the lyrics from his song “Holi Khele Raghubira Awadh Mein, Holi Khele Raghubira.”

Navya Naveli Nanda shared a series of photos on her Instagram, donning a white suit as she posed in front of the Holika Dahan fire. Among the images, she showcased her ‘mamu’ Abhishek sitting in front of the bonfire and offered a sneak peek of the gulaal stored in jars. One heartwarming photo captured Navya and Abhishek applying tika (mark) on each other’s forehead, while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan stood nearby, adorned with a tika on her forehead and sindoor.

Navya captioned her post in Hindi, “Holi Dahan (black heart and folded hands emojis),” with Abhishek echoing the festive spirit on his Instagram handle by sharing pictures and a video of the bonfire, writing, “May the Holika burn all evil away. Happy Holi!” Shweta Bachchan Nanda also took to her Instagram story to share a photo of the Holika Dahan celebration. “Burning away all negativity and evil,” she captioned the photo.
