After a promising start at the box office, Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda’s latest film Swatantrya Veer Savarkar continued its upward trajectory on the second day of its release. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film amassed Rs 2.25 crore on Saturday, bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 3.30 crore.

Swatantrya Veer Savarkar boasted an overall 25.30 per cent Hindi Occupancy on Saturday. With 323 shows, Mumbai had the maximum screenings, with a 31.50 per cent occupancy rate. Following closely, NCR had 260 shows with a 15 per cent occupancy, while Pune saw a 48 per cent occupancy with 147 shows. Chennai, with only 4 shows, achieved a remarkable 90 per cent occupancy. Starting its box office journey on Friday with Rs 1.05 crore, the film’s increased collection on Saturday hints at a potential surge in revenue on Sunday and Monday, thanks to the Holi festival.

In addition to playing the lead role, Randeep Hooda also made his directorial debut with Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. The actor underwent a significant physical transformation, shedding nearly 32 kilograms for the role.

Coincidentally, Swatantrya Veer Savarkar faced off against Madgaon Express at the box office, which also marked the directorial debut of Bollywood actor Kunal Kemmu. Madgaon Express outpaced Randeep Hooda’s film right from the start, opening with Rs 1.50 crore and earning Rs 3 crore on the second day, bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 4.50 crore, slightly surpassing Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’s Rs 3.30 crore.

Directed by Randeep Hooda and produced by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Legend Studios, Swatantrya Veer Savarkar also features Ankita Lokhande in a pivotal role.
