A new branch of a popular hospital was inaugurated in Chennai with Rajinikanth as the chief guest in attendance. The superstar was yet again at his candid best and shared that he was admitted to the hospital for a major surgery. However, the highlight of the speech turned out to be his casual quip about being scared of opening his mouth during election time. India is heading into a seven-phase Lok Sabha elections that will begin in April.

Speaking highly of the hospital, Rajinikanth said, “Earlier, when asked where is Kauvery hospital, people used to say it is near Kamal Haasan’s house. Now, when asked where is Kamal’s house, people say it is near Kauvery Hospital. Media people too… these are just casual stuff. Don’t write that Rajinikanth was messing with Kamal.”

Rajinikanth added, “I actually didn’t want to speak at all, but I was asked to say a few words. I asked will there be many media houses at the event. They said only a few. Now, looking at all these cameras, I am scared. It is election time as well. I am scared to even let out a breath (laughed).”

He recounted about a major surgery that was performed on him at the hospital, and how everyone was disciplined and dedicated to their work. The 73-year-old actor also narrated how he has undergone treatment in many such reputed hospitals across Tamil Nadu and thanked doctors and nurses for keeping him alive.

On the work front, Rajinikanth is currently acting in Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanvel. The film has Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Rana Daggubati in important roles. Rajinikanth is expected to travel to Kerala for the next schedule of the film.
