Comedian and actor Sunil Grover has carved a niche for himself in the Hindi film industry. He was last seen alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the 2023 blockbuster Jawan and shared screen space with Salman Khan in the 2019 hit Bharat. Sunil’s effortless charm and comedic prowess have earned him a good rapport with both of the superstars. However, as a comedian, Sunil treads a fine line, mindful of the delicate balance between humour and respect, especially when it comes to poking fun at iconic figures like Shah Rukh and Salman.
In a recent interview with Connect FM Canada, Sunil shared his approach to comedy, particularly concerning such big personalities. Reflecting on his risk-taking ability, he said, “The beautiful thing here is that I am their fan. I enjoy working with them. If I am their fan, I won’t say anything that will offend them because I like them. I celebrate them. Also, if you don’t like someone, you can’t mimic them properly, but if something doesn’t land than I am willing to hear all their scolding.”
Sunil also spoke about his collaboration with Kapil Sharma that comes years after their infamous fight onboard a flight. He joked refrencing their fight, “Kaafi gap aagaeya beech mein. we were planning this show for six years. This was a publicity stunt for this show for six years”. He added, “Nahi aisa kuch nahi hai. Some things are destiny. I am happy that we are together making people laugh again.”
On the work front, Sunil is set to appear in the thriller comedy Sunflower 2, streaming on Zee5. Additionally, he is teaming up with Kapil Sharma for a Netflix show, marking their reunion after a six-year gap following a bitter falling out in 2017.
