With brilliant planning, releasing the movie on a weekend when it won’t face stiff competition due to the absence of other big projects, director Aditya Suhas Jambhale’s political actioner Article 370, starring Yami Gautam and Priyamani in the lead roles, is emerging as a decent hit at the box office. According to the makers, Article 370 has grossed Rs 34.71 crore worldwide, with a nett collection of Rs 26.15 crore in India.

Meanwhile, Gautam recently shared her experience of filming during pregnancy, highlighting her efforts to balance professional commitments with personal responsibilities, including motherhood.

“First of all, I am very fortunate that all the action scenes and rigorous training were done before (pregnancy) and the remaining was mostly talking portions, scenes, exterior shots, travel and all. So, there are certain moments when you realise your true potential and can you do beyond your reserved energy and how much strength your mind has,” she said during a chat with ANI recently.

“I am a professional who has taken a very big responsibility and who has been given a very big responsibility. I am representing something and somebody so important and at the same time embracing motherhood is beyond everything in this world. I have seen my mother balancing and so many other mothers I have seen doing so I thought I had to do it. I centred my thoughts,” she added.

Yami Gautam also acknowledged her husband, Aditya Dhar, as her main pillar of support, stating, “The emotional support I got from him was incredible.” Dhar, who is also the producer of the film shared, “It’s a feeling which I can’t express in words. We took a lot of precautions and there was the panel of doctors on set.”

Gautam and Dhar, who tied the knot in 2021, confirmed that they are five-and-a-half-months pregnant at the trailer launch event of Article 370 held earlier this month.

Also starring Skand Thakur, Ashwini Kaul, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Arun Govil and Kiran Karmarkar in key roles, the political-thriller is set against the backdrop of the Kashmir conflict and tackles the abrogation of Article 370.

In her review of the movie, The Indian Express’ Shalini Langer wrote, “Mixing facts with fiction, and some convenient untruths, Article 370 presents the government of the day’s scrapping of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir as a masterclass in State craft.”
