Director Rahul Sadasivan’s Mammootty-starrer Bramayugam is continuing its successful run in theatres, earning praise from all quarters. Following the overwhelmingly positive feedback it received upon release, the number of performances of the film has significantly increased in the past two days.

Additionally, it was announced on Friday that due to high demand, over 110 extra late-night screenings have been added in Kerala alone. The film has already grossed Rs 7.65 crore worldwide and achieved an India nett collection of Rs 5.6 crore, surpassing the performance of Mammootty’s previous critically acclaimed film, Kaathal – The Core.

Meanwhile, apart from moviegoers, industry insiders have also started showering praise on the period horror movie. The director of the global hit Drishyam franchise, Jeethu Joseph, was one of the most prominent figures to hail the movie. Dubbing it as a must-watch, Jeethu noted on social media, “Watched Bramayugam. Totally a new cinematic experience. A theater must-watch. Performances: Mammootty 😍,🤗; Arjun Ashok 😍; Sidharth Bharathan 😍. And hats off to Rahul Sadasivan and all the technicians.👏👏👏”

On Thursday, Mammootty had shared a still of himself from Bramayugam on social media. The post’s comment section witnessed many Malayalam celebrities, including actors Dulquer Salmaan, Mamitha Baiju and Sarath Kumar, chef Suresh Pillai and RJ Mathukkutty, assembling to shower praise on the thespian. Renowned Tamil filmmaker Selvaraghavan wrote, “I’m your die-hard fan sir.”

Actor Jayasurya also hailed the film and Mammootty’s performance. Sharing a poster of Bramayugam on Instagram, Jayasurya noted, “A must-watch abhinaya bhramam (acting obsession) ♥️😘.” “The greatest… no two ways about it,” actor-writer Anoop Menon noted on Facebook while sharing an image of Mammootty from the movie.

Seasoned actor Harisree Ashokan, whose son Arjun Ashokan has played a key role in the movie, also heaped praise on the work. “Arjun’s performance in Bramayugam is the best in his career. I was stunned to see his acting. Hats off to Mammootty for choosing such diverse characters,” Kerala Kaumudi quoted Ashokan as saying.

“Making a great film with three or four characters is a daunting task. No need to mention each one separately. Everything was great. I feel proud of Arjun. I am amazed that he has played such a good role. He played his role well,” he added, while also praising the director and the writers.

“The direction, screenplay, and dialogues were brilliant. The artwork was also excellent. The crew made such a film after Mammookka said okay to the project. Hats off to Mammookka. He is doing diverse characters now. One must praise him for doing films like Kaathal-The Core. That is a true artiste. That is why he is still flooded with offers,” he asserted.

Ahead of the film’s release, Tamil director N Lingusamy had reacted to Bramayugam’s chilling trailer. “Still amazed how @mammukka sir could do such variations even after doing so many films. Just eager to see the magic he gonna create with this. Looks excellent sir,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
