Malayalam actor and TV host Govind Padmasoorya, popularly known by his initials GP, tied the knot with actor Gopika Anil at Vadakkumnathan Temple in Thrissur district, Kerala, on Sunday. Now, social media is flooded with photos and videos from the ceremony, with many fans sending them warm wishes.

During the traditional ceremony, GP wore a traditional mundu (dhoti) while Gopika looked elegant in a Kerala saree. According to reports, only their close relatives attended the wedding.

GP and Gopika got engaged in October last year at a private ceremony with their family members and close friends in attendance. GP mentioned on Instagram that it was an arranged marriage initiated by their families.

Leading up to the wedding, the couple shared photos and videos from the Ayinoon and Haldi ceremonies with their fans.

Before the wedding, the couple also had the opportunity to meet Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, with whom Gopika had worked in the blockbuster film Balettan (2003) as a child artiste.

GP, who began his acting career with the lead role in MG Sasi’s Atayalangal (2008), has appeared in movies such as Daddy Cool (2009), IG (2009), Natholi Oru Cheriya Meenalla (2013), Varsham (2014), Pretham 1 and 2 (2016, 2018), Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020), Bangarraju (2022) and Neeraja (2023) as well. He, however, became a household name when he began appearing as the host of the TV dance show D 4 Dance.

Gopika, on the other hand, started her career as a child artist in Shaji Kailas’ Shivam (2002). Apart from Shivam and Balettan, she has appeared in movies such as Mayilattam (2004) and Akale (2004). She gained fame through her roles in TV serials like Kabani (2019-20) and Santhwanam (2020-24). Gopika, who hails from Kozhikode, is also an Ayurveda doctor.
