HanuMan clashed with Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram. Helmed by Trivikram, Guntur Kaaram has collected Rs 121 crore in India so far. During the Sankranti week, five films clashed at the box-office–HanuMan, Guntur Kaaram, Merry Christmas, Ayalaan and Captain Miller. HanuMan emerged as a clear winner and is still holding strong.

HanuMan also stars  Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Vinay Rai, and Raj Deepak Shetty in pivotal roles. Varma recently opened up about clashing with Mahesh Babu and Trivikram. The director said that they did not have an option because Anil Thadani had already locked the dates for the Hindi release.

He shared in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, “Both the films were released on the same day. Mahesh Babu is such a big star, nobody goes against him. Nobody even in their wildest dreams will want to release their film on the same day as Mahesh Babu, that too on Sankranti. And he’s coming with Trivikram sir, which is again a mad combination.”
