Siddharth Anand’s aerial action drama Fighter was finally released in theatres on January 25th.  After making Rs 24.60 crore on the first day, the earnings soared by over 75 percent on the second day, reaching Rs 41.20 crore. On the third day, the film saw a drop of almost thirty percent, securing a collection of Rs 28 crore, according to Sacnilk. Starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles, Fighter had an overall 29.58 percent Hindi occupancy on Saturday. The total collection in India now stands at Rs 93.80 crores.

Sacnilk reported that the film has earned Rs 10 crore so far from its advance bookings for day four.  Siddharth’s previous directorial was Pathaan with Shah Rukh Khan. The film got a thunderous opening and collected more than Rs 100 crores in the first two days. Pathan minted Rs 540 crores in India.

Hrithik, Siddharth, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi watched the film yesterday and surprised fans present at the theatre. Hrithik shared a video of the fans cheering for them and wrote, “And it’s done! This is why I do what I do. So happy seeing these smiling faces. Thank you so much for all the love.”

Hrithik was last seen in the film Vikram Vedha also starring Saif Ali Khan. Fighter marks Hrithik’s fifth-highest opener after War, Bang Bang, Krrish 3, and Agneepath. Fighter brings Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan together for the first time. The film also stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi.

Siddharth recently reacted to the film being termed ‘anti-Pakistan’. According to India Today, he said, “When it comes to the trailer, you do put out a few lines. You cannot play out the whole film. Then why will you go to the theatre? You do raise some questions, some sparks so that people can come and watch the film. Hence, our trailer has serviced exactly that motive. So, in a way, I am happy it’s done that. It’s made them inquisitive, and I would tell them to come to theatres, and all your questions would be answered.”
