Tollywood star Mahesh Babu made a grand return to the silver screen after a two-year hiatus with Guntur Kaaram, and his fans eagerly thronged theatres to witness his latest cinematic offering. Despite a dazzling opening day, the film has witnessed a continuous dip. As per Sacnilk, it garnered Rs 3.25 crore on Saturday, bringing its cumulative domestic earnings to Rs 114.30 crore.

The Mahesh Babu-starrer commenced its box office journey by amassing Rs 41.3 crore on its opening day. Despite witnessing a dip in its collection, it earned Rs 107.9 crore in the first week of its release. It minted Rs 3.15 crore on Friday and maintained a steady streak on Saturday.

Facing competition from Teja Sajja and director Prasanth Varma’s sci-fi fantasy HanuMan, Dhanush’s Tamil feature Captain Miller, Sivakarthikeyan and Rakul Preet Singh’s Tamil offering Ayalaan, and the Tamil and Hindi film Merry Christmas starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, Guntur Kaaram managed to hold its ground. However, Tejas’ HanuMan emerged as a strong contender, giving neck-to-neck competition to the Mahesh Babu film. Despite a sluggish start, HanuMan gained momentum. It raked in Rs 14.25 crore on Saturday, with a cumulative domestic collection standing at Rs 114.10 crore.

Directed by Trivikram Srinivas and produced by S Radha Krishna under the Haarika & Hassine Creations banner, Guntur Kaaram boasts a stellar cast, including Sreeleela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishna, and Jayaram in pivotal roles. The film is underscored by the musical brilliance of Thaman S, complemented by the visually captivating cinematography of Manoj Paramahamsa and PS Vinod.
