Actor Shehzada Dhami has had quite a controversial year. After his sudden ouster from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, the actor was accused by director-producer Rajan Shahi of having attitude problems and exhibiting unprofessional behaviour while on the show. While he chose to lie low, Shehzada has now entered Bigg Boss 18 as a contestant. Before stepping into the Salman Khan-hosted reality show, Shehzada spoke to Indianepxress.com about his decision to participate in Bigg Boss 18. He also reacted to accusations of having ‘attitude problems’ levelled on him by Rajan Shahi and his co-stars.

Talking about why he chose to participate in Bigg Boss 18, Shehzada Dhami said that he was not very excited as this was his first-ever experience with such a show. “Everybody sees Bigg Boss. Usually the audience for TV and OTT is different, but they all watch Bigg Boss. So, the viewership is great. The second reason was that it is hosted by Salman Khan so it’s a big deal that I will interact with him.” Shehzada also went on to praise Salman Khan and said, “There is no one like Salman Khan. Meeting him on weekends will be special. I never had a dream like others about working with him, but obviously, he is the biggest hero in Bollywood. I love his aura the most.”

Over the weekend, a promo featuring Shehzada was also released by Colors TV where he said, “I am from Punjab and have done four shows. I don’t know what happened one day when my producer insulted me in front of the entire unit. I was thrown out of the show. No one can steal what is in my destiny, not even me.” Sharing that a negative image of him has been created, Shehzada said, “People will keep saying things about you, it’s their job. But until you witness something firsthand, it is stupidity to believe everything that is said. A lot of times there are truths that are often lies, and the biggest thing about a lie is that no matter how softly you say it, everyone will listen to it. If someone is yelling lies, he will grab people’s attention.”

When asked about his personality in real life, Shehzada said, “If you have followed my work, you would have an idea about my personality and what kind of a person I am. But you will only learn it completely on the show. I cannot praise myself.” Stating that his patience is his strength, Shehzada also shared that abusive people triggers him. “When somebody gets very abusive, it angers me. A lot of people assume that fighting on Bigg Boss will help, but it’s not necessary. If everyone respects each other and behaves like how we live with our family, then it would be nice. My patience will be my strength because with patience you can make the right decisions and understand the game well. Screaming and fighting are not content according to me. I am not a people pleaser.”

On a parting note, Shehzada Dhami said that he wishes to play the game well and showcase a positive image to the audience.
