The Great Indian Kapil Show recently came back for its second season. After Alia Bhatt’s appearance on the premiere of Season 2, the second episode saw the team of Devara – Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan – take the stage with Kapil as they promoted their film. The premiere of the second season got half the views as compared to the premiere of the first season, which had Ranbir Kapoor as a special guest. This week, Netflix’s viewership figures indicate that the show brought in 1.8 million views (for two episodes) as compared to 1.2 million views last week (for just one episode). The increase in the number of views is just 600,000, even though this time around, the audience had the option of streaming either of the episodes.

Last week, the show was at the eighth spot on the Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) but this week, it has climbed up to the sixth spot. After the first week, the show had 1.4 million hours viewed for just the first episode and now, it has 4.1 million hours viewed with two episodes, with both being roughly one hour each. Netflix calculates total views based on the viewers reaching a certain point of the episode. The hours viewed differ as not every viewer might be watching every episode from start to finish.

During the first season, after the end of the second week, the total hours viewed were 4.6 million and the total views stood at 2.6 million. In comparison, it is evident that the hours viewed and the viewership has declined significantly from last season. The views have decreased by almost 30 percent and the hours viewed have decreased by almost 10 percent.

The Great Indian Kapil’s next episode, which will stream on Saturday, will see Rohit Sharma return to the show with some of his teammates.
