Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda has been hospitalised after injuring himself in the leg. According to news agency PTI, who quoted the Mumbai Police, the injury was caused by his own revolver.
He is currently hospitalized at CritiCare Hospital, and police are investigating the incident after seizing his weapon. According to reports, the accident took place at 4:45 am, when Govinda, 60, was getting ready to leave for Kolkata.
In a conversation with indianexpress.com, his wife Sunita Ahuja said that the actor was stable and is undergoing treatment. Sunita, who was travelling to Mumbai, said that she is heading directly to the hospital.
Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha told ANI that the actor was returning his licensed revolver to its case when he accidently dropped it. It went off and he shot himself. “The doctor has removed the bullet and his condition is fine. He is in the hospital right now,” Shashi Sinha told ANI.
