Day 2 of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards 2024, which took place in Abu Dhabi, was about celebrating the movies and talents of the Hindi film industry.
While host Shah Rukh Khan won the Best Actor award for his performance in Jawan, Rani Mukerji took home the trophy for Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, and the Best Director award went to Vidhu Vinod Chopra for the Vikrant Massey-starrer 12th Fail. The other big winner of the night was Ranbir Kapoor’s much-talked-about film Animal. While Anil Kapoor won the Best Supporting Actor award, Bobby Deol got the Best Actor in Negative Role award. The movie also bagged the Best Music award, Best Lyrics award, and Bhupinder Babbal won the Best Singer Male award for his song “Arjan Vailly”.
IIFA 2024 was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan. He was joined by Vicky Kaushal and Karan Johar on stage.

Shah Rukh Khan, who received his award from Mani Ratnam and AR Rahman, said in his winning speech, “I want to thank all other nominees — Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Vikrant Massey — he was great in the film — Vicky Kaushal, Sunny Paji. I think all of them were great, but I got an edge because people were happy that I worked after so long.”
SRK added, “Somebody reminded me that money needs to be put into a film. So I want to thank Gauri. She may be the only wife who’s spending more on the husband than the other way around. We were going through a tough time while making Jawan (referring to the Aryan Khan case).”
The first day of IIFA 2024 saw IIFA Utsavam, an event honouring the finest talents from the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada film industries. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Mani Ratnam and Vikram were among the big winners on Day 1 of IIFA.
The three-day celebration will end on September 29 with IIFA Rocks, where artists such as Honey Singh, Shilpa Rao, and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy will perform live for the audience.
