The worlds of “Superstar” Rajinikanth’s two most-anticipated upcoming films, Vettaiyan and Coolie, collided in a delightful Onam celebration, as the superstar danced in his unique style. The makers of Coolie shared a video from the film’s set, capturing Thalaivar breaking into a spontaneous dance to the song “Manasilaayo” from his upcoming film Vettaiyan.
In the video, Rajinikanth is seen wearing a dark green shirt paired with a traditional veshti (dhoti) as he dances along with the film’s crew members. Lyca Productions, the studio behind Coolie, shared the video on social media, writing, “Onam Vibes with Coolie team! When THALAIVAR 😎 & team COOLIE ⌚ went The VETTAIYAN 🕶️ way for ONAM 🌸 #MANASILAAYO ft. team COOLIE ⌚ with the One & Only 🌟.”

“Manasilaayo,” featuring Rajinikanth and Manju Warrier, is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, who also lends his voice to the track, alongside Malaysia Vasudevan, Yugendran Vasudevan and Deepthi Suresh. Apart from Rajinikanth, Vettaiyan boasts a star-studded cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan in pivotal roles. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film is slated to hit theatres on October 10.
On the other hand, Coolie commenced shooting in August and on September 2, filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, who last directed Vijay’s Leo, shared the film’s poster, revealing the name of Rajinikanth’s character, Deva. In the poster, Rajinikanth is seen examining the back of an oval golden plate, which resembles an arm badge bearing the number 1421. Lokesh captioned the poster, “Superstar @rajinikanth sir as #Deva in #Coolie 💥💥. Thank you so much for this @rajinikanth sir 🤗❤️ It’s going to be a blast 🔥🔥.”
Coolie also features an ensemble cast including Upendra, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Nagarjuna and Soubin Shahir in key roles. The film is expected to release in 2025.
