Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab got married in 1986 and while Aditya continued to work in the movies, and was often seen in negative roles, Zarina took a break from films after she got married and welcomed her children. In a new interview, Zarina defended her husband and shared that while it is said that Aditya is a short-tempered man, he started behaving like this only because of his circumstances. Calling him a ‘heera’ (diamond), Zarina said that he is one of the best people she has ever met in her life.
Talking to the YouTube channel Chitt Ki Baat, Zarina said, “They say about my husband that he is a short-tempered man, absolutely not. He has been made to act like that. One of the best people I have ever met in my life is my husband.” She then added, ” Voh dil ke itne ache insan hain, heera hain voh (He is such a good man at heart, like a diamond.)”
She then spoke about Aditya’s helpful nature, Zarina added, “He has never refused anyone who has come to him for help. He is such a nice person, you can count on him. You can call and test him at 2 am and he will go out of his way to help you out.”

In 2013, Aditya was booked for assaulting a neighbour and in 2019, he was booked in a rape case. Actor Kangana Ranaut had also filed a police complaint against Aditya accusing him of physical torture and mental harassment. In an earlier chat with Siddharth Kannan, Aditya’s son Sooraj said, “My father has a certain image, a bad boy, a person who has done many wrong things. I don’t agree with it, of course. He is my father, I love him no matter what. I don’t agree with the way he has handled things in his life but, in a way I have forgiven him because I know that I am his only support in life.” Sooraj also added, “Dad is very emotional. Sometimes he felt that because of his past mistakes, I went through these things. So maybe sometimes he would shed a tear or two.” Sooraj was caught in the midst of Jiah Khan’s suicide case but was ultimately cleared of all charges.
