Shah Rukh Khan has been a superstar in the movies for over three decades now and across these years, apart from being a successful actor, SRK has been a successful businessman as well. In a recent interview, when Taapsee Pannu spoke about his “charisma” and his “intelligence,” she recalled an anecdote when SRK convinced her about paying people to say good things about her, an idea that she was previously opposed to. When SRK asked her to see these people as “billboards,” Taapsee’s perspective changed.

Talking to ANI, Taapsee spoke about her Dunki co-star and said, “I was telling the other day how I don’t really believe in buying out people to talk good about me or write good stuff only. I remember talking about this to him and he was like ‘there are billboards, right? And you pay for the billboards for your ads, for your display, when you want to show it to the audience? So people, who want to be paid for saying good, for you, they should be treated like billboards, they should be used as marketing tools’.”

Taapsee said that as soon as Shah Rukh presented this logic in front of her, she found herself wondering about his point of view and was quite convinced with what she said. “For a person who never believed in buying people, I was like whatever publicity happens should be organic. I can’t pay people to say good about me. Then I started thinking that they are billboards. He actually changed my point of view so quickly with his logic and reasoning, which only an extremely smart man can do,” she said.

In the same chat, Taapsee also spoke about working with Akshay Kumar and said that she learnt a great deal from him at the start of her career. One of Taapsee’s earlier solo films, Naam Shabana, had an extended cameo by Akshay and she was quite impressed with his work ethic. She shared that she learnt the “ease of action” from him. She then added, “Another thing I learnt from that man was how to be calm in adverse situations. I have never seen him get angry, never. He never raises his voice, never gets riled up, never gets worked up. Very calm. And I have not seen that man badmouthing anybody.”

Taapsee was recently seen sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar in Khel Khel Mein.
