Radio jockey J Man recalled his experiences with superstars such as Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan, and said that while Amitabh arrived for their engagement ahead of time, Salman is usually late. He said that he was so nervous in Amitabh’s company that he botched the interview, but noted that the superstar showed up 15 minutes early for their interaction. With Salman, however, he said that waiting six or seven hours is a given.

Appearing on the Inside the Mind with Rushabh podcast, he shared his experiences with Amitabh and Salman, and said, “His team always requests for the questions in advance, and they need to be written in Devanagri. He was sitting there, and there were only two people standing, but the entire office had gathered around me just to watch Amitabh Bachchan.”

Noting that the actor arrived early, he said that he witnessed the energy in the room change because of his star power. On the contrary, he was prepared to wait for hours to interact with Salman, who is known to run on his own time. “You have to understand that he’s a very busy man, and he has a lot of commitments. You will have to wait, sometimes for six hours, sometimes for seven hours. But he was very sweet, he fed me a sandwich, answered all the questions. But there were things that I observed; there are a lot of bodyguards, there are a lot of PR people, there’s a huge entourage.”

He said that Salman often conducts meet and greets through the day, and constantly entertains guests and friends on set. “But everybody respects Bachchan for his punctuality. He was 15 minutes early,” the RJ said. Many industry folks have spoken about Salman’s tardiness and Amitabh’s professionalism. Answering a fan question about this in an interaction on The Lallantop, Emraan Hashmi said with a laugh, “I’d say he has his own schedule. He has his own timing and schedule, but he is one of the best people to work with. He is very fond of me, I am very fond of him.”

Ad guru Prahlad Kakkar, on the other hand, recalled how his entire crew was ‘traumatised’ because of how punctual Amitabh was during a shoot. “Our most traumatic moments were with Mr Bachchan. He has a habit of coming five minutes early, with full makeup. No film unit in the world turns up five minutes early, or even on time,” he said in an episode of Cyrus Says.
