Sharing the video on Instagram, Karan Johar wrote, “KANK was the road that I need not have taken but it was the best decision I made to take it…till date! This film not only gave me the best of the times with my absolutely phenomenal cast that honestly, were more my family – but it also gave me the courage to tell stories that I put my conviction into about relationships that were messy but beautiful…just like life? Here’s to 18 years of Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.”

In the video, Karan says, “Making this film has been a wild ride from start to finish. Making Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna was possible because each actor was a friend, a member of my family. Each one of them seemed to invest as much as me in the film.”

Many fans took to the comments section of the video and wrote how they are quite fond of the film. Manish Malhotra commented, “A film before its times… love KANK and all those wonderful memories of our long long New York shoot.” Abhishek Bachchan also commented saying, “Best Memories.”

Another user wrote, “KANK was a masterpiece that was way ahead of its time. What’s beautiful about this film is how REAL it is despite it being wrapped in the most unreal Bollywood packaging. KANK was a Divine Channeling. It’s my favourite KJo film after Kuch Kuch Hota Hai which thinking back was also a Divine Channeling… Of the typical Twin Flame Dynamic / Masculine + Feminine Integration. KJo, you’re a lightworker and you probably don’t even know it.” One of the fans wrote, “Remake the movie, do a sequel with the same cast, Karan Johar bring back Rani, SRK, and Preity together!!”

On the work front, Karan Johar’s last directorial was Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. He is yet to announce his next directorial.
