A day after her engagement to Naga Chaitanya, actress Sobhita Dhulipala took to her Instagram handle to share some unseen photos from the couple’s intimate engagement ceremony on Thursday. Sharing a series of photos, Sobhita wrote a cute caption. In the photos, the couple can be seen sharing some candid moments together.

Sharing a set of photos, Sobhita wrote a verse from the classical Tamil poetic work Kurunthogai, translated by AK Ramanujan, that read: “What could my mother be to yours? What kin is my father to yours anyway? And how did you and I meet ever? But in love our hearts are red earth and pouring rain: mingled beyond parting.”

The first photo was a monochrome photo of the couple sitting on a beautifully decorated swing. The next photo was the couple smiling for the camera while sitting on the swing. In another photo, Sobhita could be seen trying to hide her laugh, while Chay could be seen smiling and looking away. The last pictures was of the newly-engaged couple happily posing for the camera.

For her engagement ceremony, Sobhita Dhulipala wore a peach pink traditional silk saree–sourced from the weaving communities of Andhra Pradesh. She completed her look with a traditional temple flower commonly worn in the hair by women in South. She opted for traditional gold jewellery for the occasion. Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya wore Manish Malhotra’s classic Pattu pancha, laalchi and Kanduva–a traditional 3 piece set worn by the men in Andhra Pradesh.

Sobhita and Chay got engaged on Thursday after secretly dating for quite some time. The first photos of the couple was shared by Naga Chaitanya’s father and veteran star Nagarjuna. Chay was previously married to actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The couple tied the knot in 2017. In 2021, they announced their separation through a joint statement on Instagram.

On the work front, Sobhita Dhulipala recently made her Hollywood debut with The Monkey Man. Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya is busy with the shoot of the film Thandel, also starring Sai Pallavi.
