Actor Ankita Lokhande’s mother, Vandana, spoke about her visit to the Bigg Boss house amid Ankita’s fractured relationship with husband Vicky Jain on the show. Ankita’s mother also addressed the comments made by Vicky’s mother about certain things that Ankita has said about him on the show. The couple has been at loggerheads on Bigg Boss, leading to rumours of a separation, but Ankita’s mother said that the channel is being selective about what it chooses to air.
In an interview with Galatta India, Ankita’s mother responded to recent comments made by Vicky’s mother, who had brought up Ankita’s deceased father. Ankita hadn’t appreciated this. Vicky’s mother had taken offence to Ankita seemingly kicking him on the show, and said that her husband expressed his disappointment to Ankita’s mother that day. “What was the need to call her? My mother is alone. My father has just passed away. Please don’t involve my parents,” she’d told her mother-in-law on the show.

Reacting to this incident, and to comments made by Vicky’s mother after her visit to the show, Ankita’s mother said in Hindi, “It was wrong. Both Ankita and Vicky have been away from their parents for three months, it shouldn’t have happened on the show like this. Vicky has no idea that this conversation has even happened… I don’t want their relationship to get affected by this. Ankita was crying, she was concerned. I would have never told her about it, but she said she already knew. I was very hurt when I saw that promo video, and I know that Ankita misses her father a lot.”
Ankita’s father died last year, and her mother said that she was her source of strength during that difficult time. “Her father had promised her he’d watch her on the show. His presence will never leave us. He’s not with us anymore, but I know the man he was. And my family knows. But Ankita is not with me, and she was very stressed. All I told her was that she needs to be careful about what she says on the show, because it can be misconstrued against her.”
Ankita’s mother also reacted to more statements made by Vicky’s mother in interviews following her visit to the Bigg Boss house, and said that she is entitled to her opinion. “I consider both Ankita and Vicky as my children, and I’m happy to see that they’re the same as they were still,” she said. The ongoing 17th season of Bigg Boss is set to conclude later this month.
