The recently concluded Bigg Boss OTT Season 3 was packed with dramatic moments, exactly how the show’s fans like it. From the Sana-Ranvir faceoff to Devoleena Bhattacharjee’s criticism of Armaan Malik and his wives, Payal and Kritika, this season was rife with controversies. Among the lot, one of the most talked-about incidents was Armaan slapping fellow contestant Vishal Pandey.
The altercation erupted after Vishal told another contestant, Lovekesh Kataria, that he was developing feelings for Kritika. In response, Armaan slapped Vishal, violating the strictest and non-negotiable clause in the Bigg Boss contract.
Now, Kritika has broken her silence on the matter, stating that her husband was trying to protect her. She also expressed disappointment with Lovekesh, who allegedly changed his stance on Vishal’s inappropriate comments about her.
Kritika, during a chat with Times of India, recalled that when the incident happened, Lovekesh admitted in the confession room that Vishal was in the wrong. Lovekesh even told Armaan that had he been in Armaan’s position, he would have definitely hit Vishal. She further mentioned that Armaan’s reaction was based on this and expressed surprise at Lovekesh’s change of stance during the finale.
Kritika also made it clear that she will not maintain any contact with Vishal and that his presence or absence is inconsequential to her. She stated, “Regarding Armaan ji slapping Vishal, I believe he was protecting me as a husband. He did it to protect me, and at that moment, he did not care about the show,” she added.
Kritika further mentioned that she was fortunate to have a husband who prioritised her honour over the show and she expressed her unwavering support for Armaan in this matter.
Armaan tied the knot with Payal in 2011 and they have a son named Chirayu Malik. Seven years later, in 2018, Armaan married Payal’s best friend, Kritika. In 2022, Armaan announced the pregnancies of both Kritika and Payal. He is now a father to a total of four children with his two wives.

Meanwhile, following her eviction from the show but before its grand finale, Payal had announced her decision to divorce Armaan. In a vlog, she explained that she was done with polygamy after witnessing the backlash her family was receiving. “As long as it was about me, I was okay but now the hate is coming to my kids. I have decided to part ways with Armaan for the same reason. He can stay with Kritika while I’ll take care of the kids.”
Now, Armaan and Payal have shared a new post on Instagram featuring them posing cosily together. However, netizens quickly began flooding the comment section with queries and taunts about the divorce, with many suggesting that her announcement was merely a ploy for attention and publicity.
