There is only good news in the family. Actor Sunny Kaushal says it is an exciting time as everyone around him, including brother Vicky Kaushal and girlfriend Sharvari Wagh, find themselves on firmer professional ground with recent successes. Sunny himself is awaiting the biggest release of his career, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba.

Vicky Kaushal delivered his career-best opening with Karan Johar-backed Bad Newz, also starring Triptii Dimri and Amy Virk. Weeks before that, horror comedy Munjya surprised the trade when it earned over Rs 100 crore at the box office. Sharvari, who starred in the film, followed it up with her appearance in Maharaj, the debut of Aamir Khan’s son Junaid. She will be next seen in the spy universe film Alpha, fronted by Alia Bhatt.

When the actor sat down with indianexpress.com to chat about his career, he spoke about the power of validation coming to his loved ones. “The vibe is really good. When people around you are doing well in their lives and doing what they love and always imagined to be, when they start getting that validation, it is extremely special. That’s all I can say, now please watch my film, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba!” the actor said, blushing.

Sunny Kaushal is the newest entrant in Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, a sequel to the 2021 thriller starring Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey. Directed by Jayprad Desai, the film will release on Netflix on August 9. “The truth is, I am ashamed I still haven’t watched the film,” Sunny said about the first instalment of Haseen Dillruba. “I have promised them that before the second part releases, I am going to finish it. I have watched it partially, till the time Vikrant’s character is docile, I am yet to watch his flip side. But it helped me approach the film in a different way, because my character has no idea where these two come from,” he added.
