Mona Singh blew up the internet in 2023 by sharing an exclusive selfie with Shah Rukh Khan from his birthday party, and for days, fans couldn’t stop talking about it. In a recent interaction, when Mona was asked about the selfie and how her association with SRK began, she revealed that she first met the superstar 20 years ago on the set of her popular TV show Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin.

During the interaction, Mona shared that Shah Rukh came to the set of her show with both his kids, Suhana Khan and Aryan Khan, because they were her biggest fans, and SRK wanted them to meet her. Recalling the incident, she told Siddharth Kannan, “My bond with Shah Rukh started during Jassi time. Twenty years ago, when I was shooting in Film City and the sunset was happening, my director was yelling to shoot the scene quickly as we would lose the sunset. Suddenly, Shah Rukh Khan sir walked in with his kids, Suhana and Aryan. He was holding them both in his arms.”

She added, “He told me that both of his kids are my fans, and I froze. I couldn’t believe that was happening to me. He was just so honest and gracious, and he even told me that both Suhana and Aryan eat food while listening to the Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin title track.”

Mona also revealed that she met both Suhana and Aryan at the premiere of the former’s debut film, The Archies. She said, “They are beautiful kids. They have their own individual personalities. I find them very sweet and talented. I love them.”

Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin was the hit Indian adaptation of Ugly Betty, which aired on Sony Entertainment Television from 2003 to 2006. It was also Mona’s debut show and one of the most loved shows of that era. She later transitioned to films and starred in some iconic movies, including 3 Idiots and Laal Singh Chaddha. She was last seen in Munjya and has Aamir Khan’s Happy Patel Khatarnaak Jasoos in the pipeline.
