Besides bankrolling and playing the lead role in the ‘action thriller’ Deshdrohi (2008), which is considered one of the worst Bollywood films of all time, actor-producer Kamaal R Khan is also infamous for taking potshots at many celebrities in show business. Kamaal, popularly known by his initials KRK, is now a self-proclaimed film critic and has had run-ins with Bollywood icons like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Anurag Kashyap, Anushka Sharma, Ajay Devgn, and Manoj Bajpayee in the past over his notorious tweets. Now, KRK has attracted attention again by making a bold claim regarding actor Jaaved Jaaferi’s son Meezaan Jafri. He claimed that Meezaan was gifted a luxurious apartment in Mumbai by billionaire Mukesh Ambani for introducing Ambani’s son Anant to his now-wife Radhika Merchant.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, KRK wrote, “Actor Javed Jaffrey son Meezan Javed Jaffrey is staying at Sandhu Palace Bandra, Mumbai. Because Mukesh Ambani has gifted him that apartment worth of ₹30cr. Actually Meezan did introduce Radhika Merchant to Anant Ambani. Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai (Anything can happen). [sic]”

While KRK’s tweet grabbed many eyeballs, it also caught the attention of Jaaved Jaaferi himself, who gave a witty reply on social media. Quote-tweeting KRK’s post, Jaaved wrote, “Kuch bhi!!!” accompanied by a laughing emoji. Nevertheless, a day ago, Meezaan had posted a picture of him with the newlyweds and captioned it, “Felt Cupid 😊❤️.”

With over 5.1 million followers on X and 1.25 million subscribers on YouTube, KRK rose to fame with the arrival of Deshdrohi. In 2009, he appeared as a contestant on the third season of the television reality show Bigg Boss, when it was hosted by Amitabh Bachchan.

In 2021, Salman Khan filed a defamation complaint against Kamaal R Khan for “publishing and endorsing defamatory allegations, including that Mr Salman Khan is corrupt, that he and his brand Being Human are involved in fraud, manipulation and money laundering transactions, that he and Salman Khan Films are dacoits.” However, KRK claimed that the lawsuit was a reaction to his review of Salman’s film Radhe.

In 2015, ahead of the release of Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar in the lead roles, KRK alleged that Karan offered him Rs 25 lakh to give the film a four-star review. Kashyap, however, denied KRK’s accusations, confirming that no such offer was made.
