Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan recently made his debut in YRF’s Maharaj but in a recent interview, the actor said that his father is not the best actor in the family. Junaid also revealed that he had previously auditioned for Laal Singh Chadha. The film’s lead role was eventually played by his father Aamir. Junaid shared that not just Laal Singh Chadha, but he also auditioned for 7-8 films before he landed his first film role.

In a chat with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, Junaid shared, “I have auditioned for many films. Maybe around 7-8 films.” When asked about how Laapataa Ladies director Kiran Rao, who was previously married to Aamir, liked the film, Junaid shared, “Kiran really liked my film.” He also revealed a lesser-known fact about Kiran’s acting talent. He claimed that Kiran was a better actor than Aamir, who has been in the movies for over 35 years.

“Actually, Kiran is also probably the best actor in the family,” he said and when asked about Aamir, Junaid stuck to his opinion and reiterated and said, “No no, Kiran is definitely the best actor in the family.” He then shared that Kiran had played his mother when he auditioned for Laal Singh Chadha and said, “I had actually worked with her on the test for Laal Singh Chadha. She was playing my mother. I had done a scene with her so I can tell you that she is by far the best actor in the family.”

When asked if Aamir knew about it, Junaid laughed and said, “I am sure he knows. Whether he is going to admit to himself is not something I have discussed with him but she is definitely the best actor in the family.” Junaid is the son of Aamir and his first wife Reena Dutta. Aamir and Reena separated in 2002. Aamir then married Kiran Rao in 2005. The couple divorced in 2021.

Junaid is working on two films currently. In one film, he stars alongside Sai Pallavi, and in the other, he starts alongside Khushi Kapoor.
