Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa starrer Jatt & Juliet 3 released in theatres on Thursday. The film, in two days, has earned over Rs 7.1 crore in India. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film saw a growth of 2.86 % in its collection. While the film opened at Rs 3.5 crore, it earned Rs 3.6 crore on day 2.

The film directed by Jagdeep Sidhu, opened to largely positive reviews and has become the second biggest Punjabi opener in India. Jatt & Juliet 3 had an overall 22.44% Punjabi Occupancy on Saturday.

The Punjabi film that holds the first place in being the biggest opener in India is Gippy Grewal starrer Carry on Jatta 3, which released in 2023. The film earned Rs 4.55 crore on its opening day. Before Jatt & Juliet 3, the films that held the second and third place were Diljit Dosanjh starrer Honsla Rakh and Shadaa, which made Rs 2.52 crore and Rs 2.4 crore, respectively.

The makers claimed that the film made Rs 10.76 crore globally after its first day.

According to Pinkvilla, the film internationally recorded the biggest Friday ever for Punjabi film with USD 675K compared to USD 550K of Carry on Jatta 3. The film reportedly stands at a total collection of Rs 18 crore worldwide.

The film so far has a strong hold at the box office. However, it needs to be seen if a clash with Nag Ashwin’s magnum opus sci-fi drama Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan impacts its business around the world.
