The grand finale of The Great Indian Kapil Show was one of the most relatable episodes of the season, thanks to Kartik Aaryan’s mom, Mala, who didn’t hold back in sharing some of the most embarrassing details of the actor’s young adult life. During the show, Mala recalled the time she beat the actor with sandals after she caught him bunking coaching classes.

Mala shared, “I used to teach Kartik and I was very strict. I would keep an eye on what he was doing and where he was going, and I would often follow him. One day, I followed him to his coaching class when he was in the 10th or 12th standard. I had told the teacher to inform me if he ever missed a class. He missed one or two classes, so the teacher called and informed me.”

She continued, “So, after that day, when he went to the coaching class, I followed him without his knowledge. I noticed that he took a different route and went behind a millet grinding shop with his friends. I followed them and saw that there was a big screen where all the kids were playing video games. He got scared when he saw me. I grabbed him and took him home. The whole way, he kept saying, ‘Nahi, mummy’. When we reached home, I was so enraged and frustrated that I looked for something to hit him with and ended up using my sandal. I hit him really hard. All our dogs started running here and there. I really beat him a lot.”

On the show, Kartik revealed that while his parents were never interested in his ambition to become an actor, he began pursuing acting in college and only told them about it after he bagged a role in Pyaar Ka Punchnama.

On the professional front, Kartik’s latest film, Chandu Champion, has collected Rs 52.9 crore at the box office in 12 days. He will next be seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. He will also be seen in a romantic film with Anurag Basu and a war drama film with Karan Johar.
