Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal tied the knot on Sunday after seven years of dating. The wedding, attended by her family and industry colleagues, was marked by the noticeable absence of her brothers, Luv Sinha and Kussh Sinha.

Speculation arose about possible friction between the siblings due to Sonakshi’s decision to marry Zaheer, the son of jeweler and businessman Iqbal Ratansi. Luv and Kussh were conspicuously absent in all the wedding videos and pictures online.

While it was speculated that the siblings didn’t make it to the wedding, a source told Hindustan Times, “Sonakshi’s parents attended the wedding and were naturally elated about the day. However, her brothers didn’t come to the wedding or the reception. The photographers didn’t spot the two entering the venue till the very end, which everyone found weird.”

While HT in its report stated that when it approached Luv, the actor-politician “did not deny the rumours.” It stated, “Please give it a day or two. I’ll respond to your question then if I feel I can. Thank you for asking.” However, Luv took to his social media handle to deny the claims made by the outlet.  Sharing a screenshot of the report on his Instagram Story, he wrote, “A ‘source’ based. They need better sources.” Earlier, he had also remained tight-lipped about the wedding in a conversation with another media house, mentioning he was out of Mumbai and had no comment on the matter.

Despite rumours about Sonakshi’s parents not supporting the wedding, her father Shatrughan Sinha, and mother Poonam Sinha were present to bless the couple. Ahead of the wedding, Shatrughan told Times Now, “Just because she is Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter, it doesn’t mean Sonakshi can’t have what she wants in life… 44 years ago, Shatrughan Sinha married a very successful, very beautiful, very talented girl of his choice, Poonam Sinha. Now it is Sonakshi’s turn to marry the boy of her choice.”
