In her review for The Indian Express, Shubhra Gupta wrote, “The film is giving us a rom com nestled in India’s favourite sports, which in turn is nestled in the tropes of the family-entertainer movie. So sure, that’s the way, Mahi Ve. But which Mahi are we are meant to be rooting for: her, him, or both? Are we, the audience, ready for a hero who will stand by and see the heroine get all the limelight? That’s the real question.”

Director Sharan Sharma also co-wrote the script of the film along with Nikhil Mehrotra. The movie, which also stars Rajesh Sharma, Kumud Mishra, and Arjit Taneja, among others in important roles, is produced by Karan Johar, Zee Studios, Hiroo Yash Johar, and Apoorva Mehta.

After Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, Janhvi Kapoor will be seen in her debut Telugu film Devara, starring RRR fame NTR Jr and also Ulajh. Rajkummar Rao, on the other hand, will be seen in the much-awaited Stree 2, updates for which are yet to be shared.
