Shah Rukh Khan got into a jubilant mode, hugging each player of his team after Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clinched the IPL 2024 title on Sunday. As the team’s co-owner, he celebrated the victory with his squad, family, and friends at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, hugging his wife, Gauri Khan, followed by a cute forehead kiss. He was also seen sharing an adorable moment with daughter, Suhana Khan and sons Abram Khan and Aryan Khan.

The win sent a wave of congratulations through the world of Bollywood. And why not? After all, SRK’s KKR won IPL after 10 years. Ranveer Singh took to Instagram Stories, praising KKR’s “glorious campaign” and calling it a “true team effort,” while Kartik Aaryan echoed the sentiment by sharing KKR’s official post and congratulating the “champions”.

Filmmaker Karan Johar captured the essence of the win perfectly, sharing a photo of Shah Rukh’s signature pose with the caption, “Bhai ka victory! @iplt20 ka trophy mil gaya. Badhai ho. Love you bhai (Brother’s victory! IPL trophy is his. Congratulations and love to my brother)!”

Preity Zinta, co-owner of the Punjab Kings, transcended team rivalries to congratulate KKR on their “incredible win” and third IPL title on X (formerly Twitter). “Congratulations for such an incredible win and your third IPL title @KKRiders @iamsrk @iam_juhi. Hard Luck @SunRisers. You guys were great throughout the tournament…” she tweeted.

Actor-singer Sophie Choudry also congratulated SRK and team, writing, “Beyond thrilled for KKR!! What a team!! They have been incredible throughout the season and totally outplayed their opponents today! So happy for you @ShreyasIyer15 and of course for the bestest @iamsrk…”

The cricketing fraternity also joined the chorus of praise. KKR captain Shreyas Iyer expressed his gratitude to Shah Rukh for his “words of inspiration and encouragement.”

Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh lauded both teams on X, with Raina adding a playful question about the celebration venue – Chennai or Shah Rukh’s residence! “Congratulations to @KKRiderson being crowned @IPL 2024 champions. They’ve been the standout team all thru the season. Kudos to @SunRisers for a stellar run – but the better team prevailed today. Special shoutout to @GautamGambhirfor his fearless mentorship, and to the King of Hearts @iamsrk for his success in both cinema and cricket this year!” wrote, Yuvraj.

Suhana Khan and her best friends, Shanaya Kapoor, and Ananya Panday shared glimpses of the on-ground celebrations, offering a peek into the team’s euphoric moment.

Amid KKR’s recent victory, where it defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in Chennai, on Sunday, fans can’t stop but recall the last time SRK’s team clinched the IPL trophy at the Chinnaswamy Stadium back in 2014 with a little Suhana by his side. Following the win, SRK joined his team for a victory lap, and danced to his iconic song, Chaiyya Chaiyya, adding a new vigour to the stadium and encouraging his team. SRK’s old tweets are also going viral. “Either the cup is too big or my nose is. Either way, the victory of my KKR boys is the biggest still. Love u. Get ready Kolkata we rule!!!!” read one of his old tweets. “It still hasn’t sunk in to be Champions again. Thank u my KKR for making us soooo happy,” SRK wrote in another post accompanying a photograph of himself holding Suhana as the two radiate a broad smile.

Following the 2014 match, where KKR smashed Kings XI Punjab, SRK dedicated the win to his 11-month-old son AbRam. “I dedicated this win to my little child AbRam and the hard work done by Gautam and his team. Thank you Bengaluru and thank you IPL. We believed in ourselves and the hard work done by the team management,” Shah Rukh told the official broadcasters after the IPL final,” he wrote.
