Chris Hemsworth, whose latest release Furiosa is currently in theatres, got a star on Los Angeles’ Hollywood Walk of Fame and his co-star from Avengers films, Robert Downey Jr, was there to support him on this big day. RDJ and Hemsworth were two of the six original Avengers that have now disbanded in the movies after Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man died in 2019’s Avengers Endgame.

Attending the ceremony, Robert Downey Jr took the stage and spoke about Chris’ ‘contagious Aussie charm’. “Chris is a bit daunting to describe. He is very elusive because of the pretty packaging. However, upon further inspection, down under he has a true blue wit,” he added and followed it up with a roast. He said that he had called up the other OG Avengers as well who had contributed to the roast.

Robert Downey Jr said that Jeremy Renner described him as “absurdly annoyingly amazing” and Scarlett Johansson “got the heart of it and said sensitive leading lady.” He added, “(Mark) Ruffalo came in strong with friend from work” and as the crowd roared with applause, Robert added, “Oh, that’s a callback. Now, I get it.” But he saved the best for the last when he shared Chris Evans’ comments, “Captain America calls him second best Chris.”

RDJ ended his speech by saying that “no one who deserves it more” and left the stage. Chris thanked his family, his wife and also the team at Marvel, including Kevin Feige as they “sort of launched” his career. Feige was present at the event.

Chris Hemsworth was last seen in Netflix’s Extraction 2. His last theatrical outing was 2022’s Thor Love & Thunder which did not appeal to MCU fans. Ina ne arlier chat with Vanity fair, Chris had admitted that in Thor 4, he “didn’t stick the landing” and sort of “became a parody of myself.” He said that he owed his fans another Thor but fans are yet to hear any concrete announcement about Thor 5.
